More today than yesterday

Tonight we will see the Diva of divas at Chastain Park, Miss Diana Ross.
Dinner has been packed: Spanish cocktail nuts, tomato and goat cheese tarts, some veggies, sparkling wine from New Mexico and fruit salad with a black Pearl Chocolate bar for dessert. A night to remember, especially as I will start my yearly lemon juice detox tomorrow. First some days with only veggies. Breakfast, lunch and dinner and then....10 days lemon juice, maple syrup and water. Woh! So let's have fun tonight.

Never hide

And spring quickly turned into summer.........

It's like nature knows when it's June 1. Spring was just here, but quickly turned into summer. We got back from the Netherlands and there you have it: warm, humid, afternoon thunderstorms, the whole thing. It feels and smells like a nursery and everything exploded into green. And believe it or not, but on June 1 we saw the first fireflies, heard the first cycades and spotted the first hummingbird, all on the same day. One hummingbird does mean it's summer......

Brabantse Asperges

Today was my belated birthday dinner made by my mom. White Asparagus, egg, ham and cleared butter. Yummie. My mom got on her bicycle, went to a nearby farmer and bought 3 and a half pounds of asparagus (dug this morning). They have a new machine this year, that peels the asparagus. And that's great. Because peeling them is time consuming and nasty work. They also sell special white wine to go with the asparagus. All very good. Fresh strawberries for dessert.

Off to the homeland

Jeroen and I are off to Amsterdam for a week, visiting family, do (a little) work, get our house over there ready for renting out and see Gertjan (J's oldest brother) sweat when he does his acceptance lecture as professor in Water and Health this Friday. Pretty busy!! Ruba couldn't come with us, so she is having a long sleepover at Sara and Matt's.

Just Finished it. Choose a different color of green for the edging. To set it off. The backside is a piece of ultra suede from a scrap bag I once ordered online. It was a really nice project to work on.

Happy with my iPad

I got an iPad for my birthday and it's great!! My mom gave me a beautiful skin with it called "she who dares".
